Winter Series Round 2 - Long Mynd

31st January 2020 to 2nd February 2020

The second round of the Winter Series this year will be at the Long Mynd in Shropshire. Come along for a fantastic weekend of ridge flying and maybe even some Welsh wave! With a cosy clubhouse, full catering on-site and a warm welcome from the Midland Gliding Club locals, it’s sure to be a great event.

There will be lots of two-seaters, so don't worry if you are not yet solo or can't bring your own glider. It is a great chance to meet other, like-minded pilots, as well as experience flying from a different site.

Please note: Everyone attending must register through this website, even if they don't plan to fly. This is so we know who is coming and to ensure that we have emergency contact details for everyone on-site.

Bronze Theory Exams
We've had a number of requests to organise Bronze theory exams during this weekend. To allow us to get this organised, please separately email ukjuniorgliding@gmail.com after you have signed up to the event.

Supervision & Safeguarding
UK Junior Gliding organises the Winter Series to promote gliding and encourage flying through the winter months at adventurous airfields. During flying and other organised activities, the UKJG team will maintain an appropriate level of supervision to ensure everyone's safety and welfare. The supervision of under-18's is the responsibility of the parents or a nominated responsible adult who is on-site during the event. Please contact the team if you have any questions relating to supervision or safeguarding at the Winter Series.

Temporary Membership Form
The Midland Gliding Club needs a temporary membership form from each pilot before they can fly. If you're under 18, you will need a parent's signature on the form. You can download a copy to print and sign here.
